The University IT Service (SIU) is the central IT body of the University. It sets up the technological infrastructure and common IT services and develops or integrates applications specific to the University's professions.
Missions
The operational mission of the SIU is to ensure the proper functioning of the technological infrastructure, the common IT services as well as the IT services specific to the specific professions of the University. Its more strategic and forward-looking mission is to advise UNamur authorities on technological or managerial choices for the future, both in terms of infrastructure and the UNamur information system.
Organization
The SIU is organized in two cells.
The common services unit provides IT services useful to the university community as a whole, in the areas of collaboration and communication (electronic mail, agenda, management of working documents, telephony, etc.), the work environment ( acquisition of hardware and software, protection of workstations, network access, etc.). The common services unit also provides infrastructure services supporting other IT services (network, hosting, storage, databases, systems supervision, etc.).
The business services unit provides IT services for various business areas such as education (student mobility, registration procedures, course offers, student pathways, social services, the virtual office of the student), finance (accounting management, financial investment management), real estate (management of accommodation offered by the university to both students and visiting staff), communication (institutional website, news, etc. .) as well as human resources (interfacing with specific HR management solutions).
