Economic and environmental challenges today require access to precise and complete knowledge of the earth's surface and the mineral or energy resources of the earth's depths. In this sense, the Department of Geology offers numerous training courses which lead to a multitude of professional profiles (Technician, Field geologist, Engineer, Teacher-researcher, etc.) in many fundamental and applied disciplines, namely: Petrography, Petrology , Sedimentology, Stratigraphy, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Geochemistry (surface and depth), Geoinformatics and geomatics, Geostatistics, Geophysics, Metallogeny and gitology, Paleontology and micropaleontology, Tectonics, Geology of petroleum and phosphates, Remote sensing, Geology of Morocco, volcanology , Geotechnics, Geology of clays, Pedology, Environment, .. These important disciplines are provided by numerous teaching teams, made up of forty-one teacher-researchers. In addition to teaching, these are grouped together in research structures (teams and laboratories). Our Department also has two preparers and a laboratory technician, for the production of thin sections.
