The aim of the Biodiversity, Ecology and Genome Laboratory is to provide researchers with access to the genetic diversity of organisms in the Guyanese forest, that is to say to allow the experimental study of the genetic basis of biological characteristics ( DNA properties, enzymatic properties, morphological and functional characteristics, physico-chemical properties, etc.) and their inter- and intraspecific diversity, as well as to develop and apply genetic methods which make it possible to elucidate the mechanisms of forest dynamics. EGLab's structures are therefore devoted to understanding the interactions between genotypes and the environment, drawing on all scientific investigation strategies specific to genetics in its interaction with ecological disciplines.
