Team of Materials, Nanomaterials for Photovoltaic Conversion and Electrochemical Storage

The STEP is an interdisciplinary team made up of chemists, physico-chemists, electrochemists and physicists whose objective is to master complex architectures and functionalities, to invent new high-performance materials, to describe and understand physical phenomena at all scales. relevant.

We rely on a base of chemical synthesis of molecules and macromolecules (π-conjugated or ionic oligomers and polymers, dyes) as well as nanomaterials (nanocrystals and semiconductor nanowires). The structure and properties of organic, inorganic and hybrid materials resulting from these building blocks and studied at STEP are determined by self-assembly and / or multi-scale hierarchization processes. These materials serve as an active layer or contact / electrode in (opto-) electronic devices, electrolyte for energy conversion and storage, electrode of advanced batteries and sensors.
